ABOUT

Mission Statement

Brontosaurus Haircut Productions creates new theatrical work for American audiences that expands the craft and practice of playwriting. Dedicated to fully mounting new work composed in Danny Rocco’s Script Writing Score, we are committed to finding what makes theatre unique, timely and indispensable.

History

Brontosaurus Haircut Productions was founded by director Shannon Fillion and playwright Danny Rocco in 2014. In 2017, producer Justin Brock Schantz joined the team as a permanent member of the company. BHP's premier production was Sun and Room performed at the Paradise Factory in NYC's East Village. This was followed by two workshop presentations of Convention at the Linda Gross Theater in conjunction with the Atlantic Acting School. Convention had a fully mounted production in June 2019, presented in association with the Irondale Center in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2017, the company made the bold decision to bring Danny Rocco's play What The Sparrow Said to a wider film audience. What began as a side-project/labor of love has morphed into a movement, expanding the possibilities of the company's theatrical ambitions.
